Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

2008 was quite an adventure, and we're looking forward to the blessings that 2009 will inevitably bring!

It doesn't seem like that long ago that we found out we were expecting, and here we are staring the last few weeks in the face. Zach and I are both incredibly excited to be adding to our family. We can't wait to share the new arrival with everyone. Zelig, on the other hand, currently couldn't care less :) But such is the life and approach of a 2.5 year old towards most things. He's very
interested in helping out the midwife when she's visiting - helping take mommy's blood pressure and listen for the baby's heartbeat...but any other mention of a new sibling, outside of prenatal visits from Cindy, he looks at you like you're nuts, that he'll always be the only child :) Luckily we know how much he loves babies, so we're not worried. The "official" due date, according to our homebirth midwife, is February 18th. According to the computer, it's February 12th. I personally feel it will be amazing if we last until the computer's prediction! Time will tell...and there's just not that much time left! Zach and I have had to make some adjustments having 2 children only 2.5 years apart...including a 2nd car seat (in our tiny VW Golf!) and a new bohemoth stroller for two! The second time around doesn't seem quite as daunting as the first though :)

In other news, Zach is still very busy with his corporate job as a NOC Technician for a telecommunications company in downtown Chicago. But he is also happily pursuing a longtime passion of his and has started his own business, RMZ Tactical, selling firearm accessories. He's been all-consumed with creating his company's website for the past month, as it takes an immense amount of work, and it is fabulous. It should be fully up an running no later than February of this year, and products are in stock, so as soon as it's fully operational, feel free to purchase and tell your friends!

I've been keeping busy in the new year so far by preparing for #2 and trying to keep up with Zelig (no easy task!). I'm also still running a successful Mary Kay business as an Independent Sr. Beauty Consultant, and a
m looking forward to promoting myself again in the near future - my next big goal being my free career car. I have a great new hostess program that I'm implementing this year as well as a new interview incentive that I'm really excited about. As always, feel free to contact me for more information (JuliRetzlaff@marykay.com) or hop on my website if you need anything!

We are dearly missing our longtime family member, Hailey, our black lab, after having to make the very difficult decision to have her put to sleep earlier this month. But we are sure that she's enjoying some form of doggy heaven where cookies are plentiful, the lakes are all decked with docks for belly flopping off of, and no one tells you 'no' when you want to snack on dirty kleenexes or kitty litter :)
